Improvements to compliance and performance

Most infrastructure components will be moved to another cloud provider/hyper-scaler. At the time of writing, tenants are hosted at a data center located in Frankfurt/Main, Germany, provided by US-based company DigitalOcean. After the maintenance window, all tenants will be hosted at a data center located in Falkenstein, Germany, provided by Hetzner.

Our customers will benefit from moving to Hetzner:

As a German-based company, Hetzner is fully GDPR-compliant
Hetzner is ISO/IEC 27001 certified
The data center uses energy from renewable sources
Tenants are served with better performance and lower latencies

Updates to DNS records

The DNS A records for tenants will change. The new IPv4 addresses for DNS A records will be the following:

159.69.103.121
78.46.236.49

Additionally, tenants will be available via IPv6, too. These will be the new IP addresses for DNS AAAA records:

2a01:4f8:1c17:a07c::

Please update your firewall rules to the new IP addresses as soon as the maintenance window has been closed. There will be no soft transition for old to new DNS records.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Is my tenant affected? Yes, all tenants are affected. There is no exception.
Will my tenant be unavailable? During the maintenance window all tenants will be put into maintenance mode. You will see a maintenance page instead of Docupike’s Web UI; APIs won’t respond to any requests; third-party integrations, e.g. syncs with servereye, and background jobs will be paused.
Will my tenant be unavailable for the whole time of the maintenance window? No. We handle each tenant separately. This reduces the time of outage to approx. 20 minutes.
How are third-party integrations affected? Third-party integrations, e.g. syncs with servereye, will be paused from the beginning of the maintenance window until migration has been completed when all tenants, services and integrations have been moved to the new location.
Will I loose data? Absolutely no. Before moving, each tenant will backup’ed. We ensure that no data will be altered between backup and migration.
Will the tenant’s domain name change? No, the domain name will be the same and end with .docupike.cloud.
Do I need to re-login? User sessions and cookies will be invalidated. Each user needs to re-login again.
Are API tokens invalidated? No, API tokens will remain and can be used again.
Will Docupike change? No, we won’t change the application. Look and feel will be same.
Will there be a soft transition of DNS records? Unfortunately, this is not possible. Please update your firewall rules as soon as possible to the new IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. See the section above for more details.
Can my tenant moved back? No, after closing the maintenance window the old infrastructure won’t be available anymore.
How long will the migration take? We expect to close the maintenance window after approx. 10 hours when all tenants, services and integrations are working normally again.
How do I know migration is done? We will announce an update here when the maintenance window has been closed.
